Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
  • Day 1: ARRIVAL GAYA

    On arrival Meet & Greet at Gaya Train station / Airport . Transfer to Hotel at Gaya by private Car and check in. Later Proceed on Full Day Sightseeing of Gaya & Bodhgaya At Gaya Visit Vishnupad Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is one of the major highlights of the destination. Built in Shikhara style, the temple was reconstructed by Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore in 1787. According to beliefs and religious texts, it is believed that the footprints present inside the temple are of Lord Vishnu.Located on the bank of River Falgu, the temple has footprint of Lord Vishnu, which is 40 centimetres long and enclosed by a basin made of silver plates. The temple complex is large in size and houses images of several Gods and Goddesses. In addition, there are several other shrines present in and around the temple. Later proceed to Bodhgaya ( 16 Km / 20 Min ) Bodhgaya is where the Buddha attained enlightenment and which is one of the most sacred pilgrimage place for the Buddhist. It attracts many believers from all over the world. Bodhgaya situated near the river Niranjana, is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres and in the second place of the four holy sites in Buddhism. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya visiting Mahabodhi Temple - The temple, named after the Buddha, is a sacred place for the Buddhists in Bodh Gaya, Maha- bodhi tree - The tree is considered holy since Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under it. Also visit monastries of different countries and Archaeological Museum. Evening return back to Gaya and Overnight stay at Orbit Gaya Hotel.
  • Day 2: BODHGAYA - PATNA via RAJGIR, NALANDA , PAWAPURI

    Breakfast at the Hotel Later proceed onward visiting Rajgir ( 77 Km / 2 Hour ) - Nalanda ( 14 Km / 20 Min )- Pawapuri ( 20 Km / 20 Min ) Rajgir, was once the ancient capital of the powerful Kingdom of Maghada. From the out-skirts of Rajgir, a historic road leads to Gridhakuta or vultures peak where the Buddha preached. Here the first Buddhist Council was held after the Lord's Mahaparinirvana. Nalanda was one of the oldest Universities of the World and International Centre for Buddhist Studies. Nalanda, founded in the 5th century AD, is famous as the ancient seat of learning. The ruins of the world's most ancient university lies here. Though the Buddha visited Nalanda several times during his lifetime, this famous center of Buddhist learning shot to fame much later, during 5th-12th centuries. Hieun Tsang stayed here in the 7th century AD and left detailed description of the excellence of education system and purity of monastic life practiced here. Pawapuri, or Apapuri, is the place where all sins end for a devout Jain. Lord Mahavira, the final Tirthankar and founder of Jainism, breathed his last at this place, and was cremated here around 500 B.C. It is said that the demand for his ashes was so great that a large amount of soil was removed from around the funeral pyre, creating the water tank. A marble temple, the “Jalmandir”, was later built in the middle of the tank, and is now a major pilgrimage spot for Jains. Another Jain temple called Samosharan is located here. On last leg of today’s journey proceed to Patna ( 88 Km / 2 Hours ) Later proceed on Half Day City Tour of Patna . Visiting Golghar , Khuda Baksh Oriental Library, Buddha Smriti Park & Patna Museum . Established in the year 1917, the Patna Museum is one of a few best museums in India. The fossil of a tree said to be more than 200 million years old is on display here.Also displayed is a casket — unearthed in 1958 by archaeologist A. S. Altekar at the Relic Stupa of Vaishali — said to contain the sacred ashes (relics) of Gautama Buddha. The world-famous Didarganj Yakshi statue, discovered on a Ganges riverbank in 1917, is the museum's most prized collection.   • Day 4: AT PATNA – LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

    Breakfast at the Hotel . Later proceed on Full Day City Tour of Patna . Visiting Golghar , Khuda Baksh Oriental Library, Buddha Smriti Park , Kumharar , Patna Sahib Gurdudwara ( Birth Place of Guru Gobind Singh ) & Patna Museum .Established in the year 1917 and Cited as one of the prime attractions of the city, Patna Museum presents Mughal-Sarsenic style of architecture and was built in 1917 by the British Government. Explore the terra cotta figures and images made by Hindu and Buddha artists. There are metal and stone sculptures dating back to the time of Maurya Empire and Gupta reign. The main attraction of the museum is the longest fossilised tree of the world, which is 200 million years old and 16 mts in height. The museum also houses Chinese paintings and thangkas. The world-famous Didarganj Yakshi statue, discovered on a Ganges riverbank in 1917, is the museum's most prized collection. Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library has some rare Persian and Arabic manuscripts, Rajput and Mughal paintings. This library also contains some books that survived the Moorish plunder of the University of Cordoba in Spain. Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib is the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh the 10th Guru (teacher) of the Sikhs. The devout also call it Patna Sahib. The 'gurudwara’ (the Sikh temple) is made of white marble and was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It contains the personal belongings of the Guru as well as holy texts.Adjacent to Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib is the Pathar ki Masjid, a mosque built by Parwez Shah, the son of Emperor Jahangir, during his tenure as governor of Bihar. Golghar is the circular or beehive shaped building in the centre of the city constructed by Capt. John Garstin in 1786 after the famine of 1770 as a granary. Climb up to the top for a view of the Ganga and the city from its height of 29 meters. To the south of Patna are the Kumrahar excavations. These are the ruins of the three ancient cities of the kings Ajatashatru, Chandragupta, and Ashoka. At the end of the tour transfer to Patna Train station for onward journey. End of Tour
