Aurangabad & Nashik Getaway with Lonar extension is an extension of the popular short break to heritage destination of Aurangabad visiting Ajanta and Ellora Caves along with rare Lonar Crater.

    Trip Highlights Activities (Included):- Aurangabad
    • Panchakki - 17th century water mill at 1 km from Aurangabad. Panchakki is renowned for its underground water channel that traverses more than 8 kms.
    • Bibi Ka Maqbara - Situated about 3 kms from the city is Bibi Ka Maqbara, the burial place of Aurangzebs wife, Rabia-ud-Durrani alias Dilras Banu Begum. It is an imitation of the Taj at Agra and due to its similar design, it is popularly known as the Mini Taj of the Deccan.
    • Daulatabad Fort - Daulatabad is a 14th century fort at 16 kms from Aurangabad. Daulatabad was often referred to as Impregnable fort. Muhammad-bin-Tughluq succeeded the Khiljis at Delhi and seeing impregnable fort of Daulatabad, shifted the capital from Delhi in A.D. 1328. Daulatabad is a popular tourist visit option.
    • Ellora Caves - Ellora is set at about 30 kms from Aurangabad and is a World Heritage Site. Ellora represents the best of Indian rock-cut architecture. The 34 caves are structures excavated out of Charanandri hills. Buddhist, Hindu and Jain rock-cut temples and viharas and mathas were built between the 5th century and 10th century. There are 12 Buddhist, 17 Hindu and 5 Jain caves. It is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India..
    • Grishneshwar Temple - Grishneshwar Temple is set near Ellora and is recognised as one of the 12 Jyotirlinga Shiva Temples.
    • Ajanta Caves - The Ajanta Caves are a set of 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave dated from the 2nd century BCE to about 480 or 650 CE. The caves include paintings and sculptures that represent Buddhist religious art, with figures of the Buddha and depictions of the Jataka tales. Ajanta Caves is a UNESCO World heritage site.
    • Lonar Crater - Lonar Crater is recognized as an impact crater created by the impact of either a comet or a meteorite. Crater is now a large lake around which many temples having a heritage character located. e.g. Daitya Sudan Temple, a Vishnu temple built between the 6th and 12th centuries. Lake is a haven for a wide range of plant and animal life and considered excellent for Bird watching.  
Day 1: Arrival- Aurangabad Via Nashik

Vist: Travel to Aurangabad via Nashik. Enroute visit Trymbakeshwar Temple near Nashik.

Early morning arrive at Aurangabad, our vehicle will pick you   from station or Airport. Then start Travel to Aurangabad via Nashik. Enroute Visit Trymbakeshwar Temple near Nashik (One of the 12 Jyotirlinga Temples of Lord Shiva). Aurangabad is a renowned heritage destination visited for its proximity to Ajanta / Ellora Caves (UNESCO heritage site) and Grishneshwar Temple near Ellora (One of the 12 Jyotirlinga Temples of Lord Shiva). Overnight in  Nashik.  

Day 2: Aurangabad Sightseeing

Visit: Morning Visit to Ellora Temple, Grishneshwar Temple. Afternoon excursion to Ajanta Caves.
Early morning after breakfast guest will proceed for Ellora Caves (40 kms) and Grishneshwar Temple. Travel to Ajanta  (100 kms - 2 hours) for the Ajanta Caves. Return by evening. Day 3: Lonar Excursion

Visit: Lonar Excursion. Local monuments visit in the evening. 
After Breakfast leave visit for one of the largest craters in the world. There are number of heritage monuments and temples around Lonar (120 kms - 2.5 hours). Lonar is also good for bird watching in winter. Return by late afternoon to visit local monuments in Aurangabad such as Bibi ka Maqbara and Panchakki. Overnight at Aurangabad.

Day 4: Departure

Visit: Daulatabad Fort before departure.
After refreshment check out from hotel and start visit Daulatabad Fort in the morning and depart for onward journey.
