Destination Overview:
Tezpur - Tezpur is just 180 km from Guwahati, the commercial capital of Assam. Tezpur is base point to visit Nameri Wildlife Sanctuary known for Mahaseer fishing and bird watching. Tezpur is also base point to visit Wild Mahaseer, a celebrated experiential plantation bungalow stay.
Dirang - Dirang is a getaway in West Kameng district with apple orchards and sheep breeding farms. Its a transit option for guests on the Bomdila - Tawang route.
Tawang - Tawang is home to the world famous “Tawang Ganden Namgyal Lhatse”, popularly known as Tawang monastery.
Bomdila - Bomdila is lies en-route to Tawang and guests stay here for a night before moving onwards to Tawang.

    • Bomdila: - Bomdila Monastery - Bomdila Monastery (1965) is a renowned monastery of the Bomdila area, visited by locals and guests travelling to Tawang.
    • Dirang: - Farms of Dirang - Dirang is renowned for its orchards. Apple and Kiwi are extensively grown in the area and guests visit Regional Apple Nursery, and Kiwi Farms around DirangNational Yak Research Centre - The National Research Centre on Yak at Dirang has a yak farm at 8500 ft asl where nore than 150 yaks of different varieties are being housed.
    • Tawang: -Tawang Monastery - Tawang Monastery (10000 ft asl - 17th Century) is one of the largest monasteries of Mahayana sect in Asia and the largest in India. It is said to be one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries in the world outside of Lhasa with about 450 monks studying there at any given time. There is also a Center for Buddhist Cultural Studies where young monks are taught arithmetic, English and Hindi as well as their traditional monastic education. The present Gyalsey Rinpochey lives and teaches at Tawang. Tawang is one of the remotest areas of India and a road Journey to Tawang is nothing short of an experience.      

Day 1: Arrival In Jorhat

Arrive at Jorhat airport in the afternoon. Drive to a colonial era bungalow in the Sangsua Tea Estate. This heritage building was built in 1903 as the residence for the British General Manager. Spend late afternoon & evening at leisure enjoying the unique, laidback & luxurious lifestyle of an era gone by; and the exquisitely beautiful verdant natural ambience all around you. Overnight at Jorhat

Day 2: Jorhat - Nameri (215 Km - 7 Hrs)

Today Moring Check out after a leisurely breakfast and drive to reach the exotic & pristine Nameri National Park by late afternoon. Check into huts/tents at Nameri Eco Camp, located within the sanctuary. Freshen up and if time permits you can do a walk in the forest. Overnight in Nameri.  

Day 3: Nameri- Dirang (185 Km -6- 7 Hrs)

Leave after breakfast and drive towards Arunachal Pradesh. En route stop to see the Tippi Orchid Center. Reach Dirang by late afternoon. Later do a bit of sightseeing: Dirang Monpa tribal villages, the Hot Water Springs and Kalachakra Monastery. Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 4: Dirang-tawang (145 Kms -5 Hrs)

Today  Drive to Tawang crossing over Sela Pass (4270 M) - the highest motorable pass in the Northeast. At the pass walk up to a vantage point & check out the turquoise hued Sela Lake. In the evening visit the local market and enjoy a walk around Tawang town. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 5: Local Sightseeing Tawang

After morning breakfast start Visit the famous 400 years old Tawang Gompa and interact with the lamas (monks). Later visit the beautiful Shungetser Lake - popularly known as Madhuri Lake since a Bollywood movie song featuring Madhuri Dixit was shot here. Also visit Pankang Teng Tso – another fetching heaven. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 6: Visit Tawang Bumla Border

Full day excursion to the Indo- China border at Bumla, driving through some scintillatingly rugged & picturesque terrain. Located at 15000 ft there is also a strong likelihood of coming across snow, even in the summer months. Overnight in Tawang.

Day 7: Tawang - Bomdila (180 Kms -7 Hrs)

Leave after a leisurely breakfast to reach Bomdila by evening. Later visit the Gompa & the local market. Overnight in Bomidia.  

Day 8: Bomdila - Tezpur (160 Km - 5 Hrs)

After breakfast drive back to Tezpur. Check in to your room at a hotel. Later visit the ruins and remains of Agnigarh where an immortal romance blossomed between Usha – daughter of the demon king Banasura, and Aniruddha – grandson of Lord Krishna. Also visit Cole Park where you can enjoy boating. Overnight in Tezpur.

Day 9: Departure - Tezpur -jorhat (140 Km - 3 Hrs)

Post breakfast transfer to the Airport / Railway Station to board your return destination.
